Henry Roe Cloud was a full-blooded Winnebago, born on a reservation in Nebraska. He was the first Native American to graduate from Yale University. He established and directed the American Indian Institute on our site in 1915, a preparatory school for Native Americans, many of whom later graduated from colleges to become leaders of their people. See below for the aerial veiw of our site circa ~1920, and the later photo showing the same building that served as our Sunday School 1957-1960. We will commemorate the Roe Cloud legacy on Earth Day at 1:30 pm with music by Terri Harpool's ensemble from Cloud Elementary School.
