Philip Shull |
Phil Shull has served congregations and campus ministries in Montana, Colorado and Kansas over the past 40 years. He grew up on a farm in western Kansas. He is a graduate of Washburn University and the Iliff School of Theology. He and his wife, Mary, met while studying at Copenhagen University in Denmark. They have two grown children, both of whom live in Oregon. He enjoys reading, skiing, flying, and working on the family farm. |

Kara Yuza |
Kara is a native of Godfrey,
Illinois, and moved to Wichita in 1992. She graduated from Wichita State
University with a bachelor of science degree in public relations.
Previously
she served as youth coordinator at Aldersgate UMC in Wichita. She loves working with children and youth and strives to show individuals of all ages how God uses each of us every day. We may not see it, but we are His hands and feet to do His work. |

Alicia Mann |
Alicia is a long-standing member of University United Methodist Church where she has attended since she was a child. She has a music degree from Wichita State University and works at Exacta Aerospace. To fulfill her music passion she sings in the Wichita Symphony Chorus and plays violin in the Newton-MidKansas Orchestra. She is married to Brian and has a daughter, Lexi. In her free time she enjoys reading, playing piano, dancing, shopping and going to the movies. |

Mary Horn |
Mary Horn is a native Kansan. She grew up in Wellington and since has lived in numerous states as well as in Germany. She has two children and loves to read. Her work at University UMC includes writing and editing the newsletter, answering the phones, handling administrative tasks and being a supreme "Director of First Impressions." She has served UUMC since 1998 and does not plan to leave any time soon as she is passionate about the need for all Christians to understand that all people are children of God and should be afforded equal civil rights. |

Joe Emery |
Joe Emery has been choir director at University United Methodist Church for more than 10 years. He is the son of a retired Methodist minister and grew up in the Methodist church. He was a double major in college at Wichita State University, majoring in Instrumental and Vocal Music Education. He was married in University United Methodist Church following his second year of college and began singing in the chancel choir at that time. Upon receiving his Bachelors Degree he began teaching band at Belle Plaine, Kansas. He taught in the Wichita Public School System for a number of years before moving to El Dorado High School and Middle School. Joe currently serves as the Music Director for the Andover school district. Joe has been a member of University United Methodist Church since 1979 and been involved in the choir as a member and director since that time. |

Ricki Emery |
Ricki is the Children's Choir Director at University UMC. Her passion for music and children does not stop at the church doors however. She has been teaching music for more than 25 years, mostly for the Maize school district. She received both her Bachelor of Music Education degree and her Masters in Curriculum from Wichita State University. |

Julie Warkentin |
Julie Warkentin earned a Master of Music degree in organ performance from Wichita State University where she studied with Robert Town. She did her undergraduate work at Taber College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in music, studying organ with Wallace Dunn. Julie has served as organist/accompanist in a variety of denominational settings over the years, including Mennonite, Baptist, Christian and Methodist churches. She also is an accompanist for the Maize School District, the Wichita Chamber Chorale, and is a keyboard presence in the Wichita area for soloists, honor choirs, festivals and theater productions. Julie and her husband John have three children who share a love for music and sing together at every opportunity. |

Chuck and Diana Kramer |
Chuck and Diana serve University UMC with their talents and abilities as janitors. They work together to keep UUMC looking great and ready for any group to utilize the facilities. Together they have seven children and 22 grandchildren, all of which constantly keep them on their toes. | |
