University United Methodist Church offers
several programs for children. For more details on any of these
programs, email Kara Kuehnel at
kara@uumc.net.
Sunday School - Sunday school
is at 9:15 a.m. each Sunday and begins with gathering time. Sunday
school classes are offered for children ages 2 through 12th grade. A
nursery is available for children birth to age 2.
Sprouts - Sprouts is an
accountable discipleship group for children in the 3rd - 5th grades
seeking to witness for Jesus Christ through works of caring and faith.
The children covenant together to practice Acts of Kindness, Acts of
Justice, Acts of Devotion, and Acts of Worship and to encourage and
watch over one another in love.
Two 6-8 week sessions are offered each year. Time is 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Sundays.
"The kingdom of God is as if someone would scatter seed on the ground, and would sleep and rise night and day, and the seed would sprout and grow." Mark 4:26-28.
Children's Choir - Children in kindergarten through 5th grade are invited to sing with our children's choir. The choir meets at 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday and they perform monthly in worship. All children welcome.
Children's Church - Children ages 4 through 2nd grade have a special church opportunity three Sundays of each month. Immediately following the scripture reading, children are taken to Children's Church where they learn about God and his place in their lives. Children's Church activities include stories, crafts, snacks, acting and much more. Children's Church is not offered the fourth Sunday of each month.
Vacation Bible School - All children are invited to participate in our summer Vacation Bible School. Offered one week each summer, this opportunity encourages children to see God in their daily lives. Contact the church for specific dates and times.
Seasonal Activities - Seasonal activities for children include an Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween Trunk-or-Treat and Vacation Bible School in the summer.
